Italy’s sports minister, Andrea Abodi, praised Andrea Antonelli as an extraordinary young man and said his character is evident in his smile. Speaking to ANSA in Perugia during an event linked to the national “Sport Illumina” project, Abodi said Antonelli had placed Italy at the top of the world through his sporting achievements.
Abodi emphasized that Antonelli combines simplicity with exceptional talent. He also praised the driver’s maturity, composure and ability to handle a highly complex car, work with his team, interpret its performance and use telemetry to make it more competitive.
According to the minister, achieving this level of performance at the age of 20 is an extraordinary accomplishment and reflects the talent present among Italy’s younger generation. He said society must be able to identify, promote, protect and support that talent.
Abodi added that Antonelli could serve as an inspiration beyond motorsport and sport, becoming an example for society more broadly.
