Elena Rybakina remains at the top of the latest official WTA rankings, although the points from her WTA Finals title last year have now dropped from her tally. Aryna Sabalenka’s runner-up points have also expired, narrowing the gap among the leading players.

Coco Gauff has moved into fourth place after edging ahead of fellow American Jessica Pegula by three points. Linda Noskova has returned to eighth, while Iga Swiatek has dropped to ninth. Swiatek will miss the season-ending event for the first time since 2019 after ending her season because of a thigh injury.

Diana Shnaider climbed two places to 11th, matching her career-best ranking. Alex Eala also reached a new career high, rising two positions to 17th ahead of her final tournament of the season at the WTA 250 event in Hong Kong.

Leylah Fernandez was the biggest mover in the top 20, gaining five places to reach 18th. Naomi Osaka rose two spots to 16th, while Belinda Bencic and Sorana Cirstea also made smaller gains.

Victoria Mboko fell five places to 20th after being sidelined with a knee injury since June. Injured former US Open and Wimbledon finalist Amanda Anisimova dropped five positions to 22nd, outside the top 20.

The season is approaching its conclusion, with players outside the top eight scheduled to finish their campaigns in Hong Kong or Chennai before the elite return to action at Indian Wells from November 8.
