Kimi Antonelli said he would do everything possible to represent Italy with pride ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, an event that could bring him the 2026 Formula 1 world championship.
Speaking to Sky Sport journalists in the paddock less than an hour before the start, the Mercedes driver thanked the Italian supporters watching the race and promised to give his best to raise the national flag high.
Antonelli starts from fourth place and needs two points to mathematically confirm the title. He said the opening lap would be crucial, particularly in deciding where to position the car and what action to take at the start.
The Italian also said he had slept well after feeling exhausted, describing it as his best night of the week.
