Ireland have named Craig Casey, Sean Jansen and Nick Timoney in their starting XV to face Argentina in the Nations Championship on Friday night at the Aviva Stadium. Dan Sheehan will captain the side in the absence of injured Caelan Doris.
Jansen will start at number eight, with Casey selected at scrum-half alongside fly-half Sam Prendergast, who has recovered from a wrist injury. Gibson-Park, who returned from a groin injury for Leinster on 24 October, is among the replacements. Timoney starts in the back row, with Van der Flier also named on the bench.
Robbie Henshaw will wear the number 13 jersey alongside Stuart McCloskey in midfield, with Garry Ringrose ruled out by a hamstring problem. Mack Hansen, Andrew Porter and Ryan Baird return to the starting line-up after missing Ireland’s recent fixtures through injury. Hansen starts on the left wing, Porter at loose-head prop and Baird at blind-side flanker.
Hugo Keenan is at full-back, with Robert Baloucoune on the right wing. Porter joins Sheehan and Tadhg Furlong in the front row, while Joe McCarthy and Tadhg Beirne start in the second row. Timoney and Jansen complete the back row with Baird.
James Ryan, Gibson-Park and Van der Flier are among Ireland’s replacements. Sam Illo could make his home debut if called upon.
Argentina coach Felipe Contepomi has made 12 changes from the team that drew 28-28 with Australia in September. Full-back Juan Cruz Mallia returns from injury for his first cap since November 2025.
