Como recorded a 9-1 victory over Lens in France on Wednesday, matching the modern-era Champions League record for goals scored by one team in a match. Anastasios Douvikas led the attack with a hat-trick as Cesc Fàbregas’s side claimed its third win in four games in this phase of the competition. The result was also the biggest defeat by a French club in the tournament’s history.

Bayern Munich had beaten Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in 2024, while Liverpool and Real Madrid have each recorded 8-0 wins in the group stage.

Real Madrid maintained a perfect record with a 3-2 win over AEK Athens in Greece, sealed by Federico Valverde’s long-range strike in the 47th minute of the second half. The Spanish side had fallen behind twice, to goals from Aboubakary Koita and Stavros Pilios. Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé equalised before Valverde scored the winner.

The win gave José Mourinho’s team four victories from four matches and 12 points, level with Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal, another of Real Madrid’s opponents in the first phase, beat Slavia Prague 2-1 away and moved to 10 points. Viktor Gyökeres scored and assisted for Arsenal.

Manchester City also reached nine points after a 3-2 win over Leipzig. An own goal by Castello Lukeba and a strike from Enzo Fernández put City ahead, before Ridle Baku and Antonio Nusa levelled for the German side. Erling Haaland scored in the 33rd minute of the second half to secure the win.

Liverpool lost for the first time in the competition, falling 3-2 to Fenerbahçe in Istanbul. The Turkish team, which had yet to win in the Champions League, claimed victory through Vedat Muriqi’s headed goal in the 34th minute of the second half.
