Marten De Roon has praised Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini ahead of the Champions League match against Manchester United, describing him as unique and highlighting the intensity of his football.

“Gasperini is unique,” De Roon said during the pre-match press conference. The midfielder praised the coach’s tactical training and his preference for fast football, attacking play and sustained intensity, qualities he believes have consistently made Gasperini’s teams strong.

De Roon also said he has regained his fitness and rhythm since joining Roma. He credited the coaching staff and squad with helping him settle in, adding that he is pleased with the way his return has progressed after the international break.

Looking ahead to the match against Manchester United, De Roon acknowledged the strength of the English side but said Roma want to achieve an important result. He said the team is playing well and wants to maintain the level of its performances during its first Champions League campaign.

The midfielder admitted Roma lacked maturity in their match against Real Madrid, but said the team is improving. He added that Roma aim to play proactively, seek goals and avoid sitting back as they prepare to perform in what he described as a magical stadium.
