Flavio Cobolli has withdrawn from the Paris Masters, saying he still feels some discomfort and does not want to risk further injury. The tournament is the final event before the ATP Finals in Turin.

Cobolli said he had hoped to compete after trying to train in the gym following the tournament’s media day, but decided that continuing would not be prudent. He will instead focus on recovering from the injury suffered at the Vienna tournament, where he retired during his second-round derby against Matteo Berrettini.

The Italian also expressed his disappointment at missing the Paris event, recalling that the city had hosted the two most important weeks of his career. He thanked his supporters and said his priority was now recovery.

Cobolli is currently fifth in the ATP Race to Turin, following Jannik Sinner’s confirmed withdrawal. He leads Arthur Fils by 165 points, Frances Tiafoe by 310 and Jodar by 466. His advantage over the first player outside the qualifying places, Alex de Minaur, is 530 points.

Cobolli would miss out on qualification only in an unlikely scenario involving a Paris final between de Minaur and Jodar, with Tiafoe reaching at least the semifinals.
