Frosinone striker Antonio Raimondo is expected to miss at least five to six weeks after tests confirmed a serious injury to his left ankle. The club’s forward has already started rehabilitation, although his recovery timeline will depend on how he responds to treatment.
Raimondo suffered a contusive and sprain-related injury involving multiple ligaments in the 27th minute of the first half against Torino. He was hurt in a challenge by Torino winger Aboukhlal, who was booked.
The 2004-born striker has scored eight goals in the league, matching Malen’s tally as the competition’s second-highest scorer. On loan from Bologna, he has also been an important part of Frosinone’s attack under coach Alvini.
Raimondo is expected to miss four or five matches, taking into account the international break on November 15, and could also miss a possible national-team call-up. Birligea, who replaced him during the Torino match, is currently ahead of Bobcek in Alvini’s pecking order, though the coming week of training could affect the choice.
