A new draft law aimed at strengthening the Lilla Pathway has been proposed following the presentation of the book "Quello che non ho visto arrivare" by long-time sports director Giorgio Perinetti. The event took place in the "Caduti di Nassirya" hall at the Italian Senate, where Senator Filippo Melchiorre outlined the legislative initiative. The proposal seeks to improve healthcare operator training, enhance patient reception, facilitate early identification of eating disorders, and ensure continuity in therapeutic care.

The book is dedicated to Perinetti's daughter, Emanuela, who passed away on November 29, 2023, at the age of 34 due to an acute form of anorexia. During the presentation, Melchiorre emphasized that legislation alone cannot solve such a complex issue, stating that prevention and patient care must become concrete objectives achieved through open dialogue without prejudice.

Perinetti highlighted the personal struggles his family faced, noting that he lacked the tools to force his daughter into treatment because current regulations do not prevent hospitalized patients from signing themselves out of clinics. He expressed hope that this new legal framework could provide better support for families in similar situations. Marcello Gemmato, Undersecretary of State for Health, also attended the event, stressing the importance of enabling all public healthcare structures to diagnose the pathology rapidly to minimize its effects.
