Italian sprinter Zaynab Dosso is embarking on a new technical journey by moving to the United States to prepare for the upcoming Los Angeles Olympics. The athlete, who holds the Italian record in the 100 meters and is the indoor world champion in the 60 meters, has chosen to train in Alabama under the guidance of Ken Harnden.
Harnden, a former Zimbabwean athlete and two-time Olympian in the 400-meter hurdles, currently serves as the head coach of the track and field program at Auburn University. Dosso explained that her decision is driven by the desire for novelty and growth, noting that she believes this path will allow her to achieve even more. She praised Harnden's ambitious nature and his ability to connect with athletes, highlighting his specific focus on biomechanics and comprehensive programming from start to finish.
In Alabama, Dosso will join a high-level group of athletes, including Ja'Kobe Tharp, the world record holder in the 110-meter hurdles. The sprinter described the environment as both motivating and stimulating, expressing enthusiasm about being part of such a competitive new setting. This marks a significant change for Dosso, who was previously trained in Rome by Giorgio Frinolli over the past few years. Her new training regimen is scheduled to commence on November 16.
