Detroit-lions/">Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell says he is making progress after suffering a serious neck injury during Sunday’s win over the Minnesota Vikings. He has full movement in his lower body and is continuing to regain movement in his upper body, according to a statement released Wednesday.
Campbell, 26, was treated on the field for nine minutes after making a tackle before being taken to a hospital in the Detroit area, where he remains hospitalized. “I’m incredibly encouraged by the progress I’ve made in such a short period of time,” he said. He added that he was staying positive and taking his recovery one day at a time.
Lions coach Dan Campbell praised the linebacker on Monday, describing him as dependable and respected by his teammates. Jack Campbell was named an All-Pro last season and is in his fourth year in the league. He signed a four-year contract extension with Detroit in May worth $81 million.
