Milan will look to build on their derby victory over Inter when they host Ferencváros in the Europa League on Thursday at 18:45. Coach Amorim said the derby was already in the past and that the next match had to take priority, stressing that his team would need a strong performance to win.
Amorim warned against underestimating Ferencváros, describing them as a well-organised side with dangerous forwards and wingers, a clear identity and a winning mentality. He expects them to come to San Siro looking for points and said Milan must stay focused on the details, as they did in the derby.
The coach said Milan’s identity is to play positively and dominate, while acknowledging that the team still needs to control matches better and create more in the final third. He added that he is not satisfied with the team’s performances in either Serie A or the Europa League, but believes they can win on Thursday.
Amorim also praised Diawara’s work and said the player had given good signs when used at full-back. He added that Milan’s results depend in part on how they approach each match, regardless of the opposition.
