Spain’s National Police have opened proceedings against Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono on suspicion of negligent homicide, according to police sources, following the death of Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel.
The two players collided during Monday’s second-division league match between Tenerife and Andorra. De Miguel, 30, suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch and died on Tuesday morning.
