Scotland will be without Jamie Ritchie and Elliot Millar Mills for the upcoming Nations Championship fixtures after both players were injured at club level over the weekend.
Ritchie, a 30-year-old Glasgow Warriors flanker with 63 Scotland caps, was forced off after 10 minutes of Friday's 29-20 victory over the Lions. The result moved Glasgow to the top of the United Rugby Championship. Ritchie had only recently returned to action after ankle and Achilles tendon problems and made his Glasgow debut last month following his summer move from Perpignan.
Millar Mills suffered a leg injury during Newcastle Red Bulls' 59-26 Premiership defeat at Northampton Saints. The 34-year-old prop played for 55 minutes and will now have to wait to add to his 15 international appearances.
Uncapped Ollie Blyth-Lafferty, Edinburgh prop D'arcy Rae and Edinburgh back-row player Freddy Douglas have been called up as replacements.
Sale Sharks scrum-half Gus Warr will also join Scotland's training group this week. The two-cap player will be joined by uncapped Glasgow back Josh McKay, who is continuing his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Scotland will host New Zealand on 7 November, Australia eight days later and Japan on 21 November.
