Storm Stacey will return to the North West 200 in 2027 after winning two races on his debut at the international road race event in 2026. The British Superbike rider claimed victory in the Superstock class and the feature race on the Triangle circuit.
The 23-year-old said he was keen to return, describing the event as “magical” and unlike anything else in racing. He said the atmosphere and speed of the races made the experience special, and that he had felt the excitement again while riding laps of the circuit.
Stacey’s double placed him among 27 newcomers who have won at the North West 200 on their first appearance. In the Superstock race, he beat home favourite Michael Dunlop. He then overcame Dean Harrison and Glenn Irwin to win the feature event.
Stacey will ride for GRYD Racing Team in both the British Superbike Championship and the North West 200 next season. The team is co-owned by Michael Laverty and David Eltherington, and Stacey will be joined by Irwin on Alpha Racing-prepared BMW 1000 RR motorcycles.
Stacey said Irwin had helped him during his first visit, while noting that competition would be intense once they were racing. He added that the North West 200 had brought him new recognition and followers, and said the event’s popularity benefited both him and the meeting.
