Sunderland has confirmed its unwavering support for manager Regis Le Bris, even as the club finds itself at the bottom of the Premier League standings. The Black Cats have secured just one victory in their opening nine league matches, a run that included a 3-1 defeat away to newly promoted Coventry on Saturday.

Despite these results, the north-east club remains confident in Le Bris's ability to reverse their fortunes. The board is reportedly prioritizing stability and collective responsibility as it seeks to improve the team's performance ahead of an upcoming match against Chelsea on the Sunday before the international break.

Le Bris, 50, joined Sunderland from Lorient in 2024 and immediately delivered promotion back to the Premier League after an eight-year absence. In his second season, he guided the club to a seventh-place finish, securing qualification for the Europa League for the first time in 53 years.

In European competition, Sunderland has won two matches and drawn one during the league phase so far. The team is scheduled to host Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday.
