Troy Deeney has announced his Premier League team of the week after the latest round of matches, highlighting performances across several clubs and naming Coventry manager Frank Lampard as his choice in the dugout.

Brighton goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen made the team after a series of saves that Deeney said kept his side in the game. Tottenham’s Archie Gray was recognised for scoring and defending well, while Arsenal’s Ezri Konsa earned praise for his determined work at the back. Jan Paul van Hecke and Jurrien Timber complete the defence.

Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia was selected for his work breaking up play and keeping possession moving, as well as providing an assist. Arsenal’s Declan Rice also made the side after what Deeney described as a strong captain’s performance, which included an assist.

Coventry’s Tatsuhiro Sakamoto was praised for his work rate and contribution in an important match. Aston Villa’s Johan Manzambi was included after another assist, while Hull forward Ollie McBurnie made the team for his all-round effort. Coventry striker Taiwo Awoniyi was selected for a solo goal.

Deeney named Frank Lampard manager of the week after Coventry beat Sunderland in what he called a significant six-pointer. He also gave Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta a special mention for his team’s win at Liverpool.
