Yemane Crippa celebrated finishing second in the New York Marathon, describing the result as the realization of a dream.
“I was talking about a dream, today it is reality,” the Italian athlete wrote on social media. Crippa added that he had given everything until the finish and said he was still unsure how to describe the experience.
He called the race an emotion he would carry with him for a long time and thanked New York. High-jump champion Gianmarco Tamberi was among the first to congratulate him, posting “Yeahhh baby” in tribute to the marathoner.
