Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori began their Paris Masters campaign with a 6-3, 3-6, 10-6 victory over Germany’s Jakob Shnaitter and Mark Wallner, advancing to the last 16. The tournament is the season’s final Masters 1000 event and is being played at the Défense Arena.
Already qualified for the ATP Finals, the Italians will next face either Americans Robert Cash and Brandon Nakashima or Monaco’s Valentin Vacherot and France’s Luca Van Assche.
Bolelli and Vavassori had also beaten Shnaitter and Wallner in Rotterdam. This season, the Italian duo have won titles at the Miami and Rome Masters.
