Inter travel to face Feyenoord in the Champions League at 9 p.m. looking to respond to their derby defeat and improve on a campaign that has brought one win from three matches in the competition. Coach Cristian Chivu said he remains confident in his players and expects them to deliver a strong performance.

Chivu acknowledged that the team must learn from recent mistakes, while forward Marcus Thuram pointed to problems with Inter’s starts to matches. Thuram said the intensity the team showed while playing with 10 men against Shakhtar should be carried into every game.

Inter’s defensive options are limited by Alessandro Bastoni’s suspension. The expected back three is Bisseck, Akanji and Carlos Augusto, with Federico Dimarco returning to the flank. Pio Esposito could partner Thuram in attack. Chivu said Provedel and Pavard have returned to training and that the team has not had further problems in recent days.

The coach warned that Feyenoord are especially strong at home, citing their intensity and quality in attack, including Hadj Moussa and Zechiel. He expects a hostile atmosphere in the stadium but said Inter must use their own strengths to make the match difficult for the hosts.

Chivu said Inter remain in contention in the Champions League and are approaching the campaign one match at a time. The team will also face Como in the league on Sunday.
