CD Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel has died aged 30 after suffering injuries in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono during a second-division match, the club announced on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

De Miguel suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to hospital on Monday. He was challenging for the ball in midfield in the closing minutes at Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López when Owono struck him in the chest. The match was abandoned.

Tenerife initially said De Miguel was in intensive care at Hospital Universitario de Nuestra Señora de Candelaria in Santa Cruz and was stable despite the severity of his condition. The club later reported that his medical condition had worsened neurologically.

In its announcement, Tenerife expressed its grief and offered condolences to De Miguel’s family, friends and supporters.

De Miguel made his debut with Leganés B in 2015 and went on to play for eight other Spanish clubs. He joined Tenerife last year.
