Jesús de Miguel Alameda, known as Demi, died on Tuesday at the age of 30 at Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria Hospital in Tenerife. The striker had been injured in a collision with Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono at the Heliodoro Rodríguez López stadium on Monday. He was married and had a daughter who was 18 months old.
Born in Madrid on September 21, 1996, De Miguel came through the youth systems at Lugo Fuenlabrada and Leganés before building his career across clubs in the Madrid and Castilla regions. A lifelong Real Madrid fan, he played for Internacional de Madrid, Fuenlabrada, Unión Adarve and Navalcarnero, among others.
His 12 goals for Unionistas de Salamanca in the 2021-22 season helped earn him a move to Castellón in January 2023. He went on to score 16 goals and provide six assists in 38 matches during the 2023-24 Primera Federación season, finishing as the competition’s leading scorer in Group II and helping Castellón win promotion to the Segunda División.
Tenerife signed De Miguel in July 2025, bringing him to the island he had first visited as a player with Internacional de Madrid in 2018. He scored six goals in his first five league appearances for Tenerife and finished the season with 11 goals in 29 league matches. On May 1, the club secured the group title and promotion to the Segunda División, the third promotion of his career.
After receiving offers from clubs including Real Zaragoza and Huesca, De Miguel stayed in Tenerife. He had a contract with the club until 2028, and his physical problems and desire to remain on the island helped shape that decision.
