Kendrick Nunn scored 33 for Panathinaikos, with 25 of those points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime. Mathias Lessort contributed 20 points and nine rebounds.
Panathinaikos took an early lead, but Madrid rallied through improved ball movement and a 20-8 run before halftime, reaching the break down 51-48. Madrid tightened its defense in the third quarter and briefly moved ahead, with Abalde’s three-pointer at the buzzer bringing the score to 74-73.
Abalde continued to hit from long range in the fourth, while Nunn answered for Panathinaikos. The teams were tied at 101 at the end of regulation. In overtime, Madrid missed several hurried shots as Panathinaikos secured the rebounds and held on for the win.
